Comcast High Speed Internet - Advantages of a Comcast (comcast.net) High Speed Internet Connection
Broadband cable ISP: Comcast (comcast.net) high speed internet
High speed Internet can be obtained in two ways - DSL and LAN. DSL uses the telephone line to send its signals to a modem hooked into your telephone connection, and LAN comes via cable. LAN will also use a small external modem and will connect to an Ethernet card in your computer. It has the advantage that it is always on, so you never get disconnected. This is ideal for businesses and home computers alike - especially useful for people who watch videos and play games online, and how upload and download a lot of files.
Comcast High Speed Cable Internet is a widely popular broadband cable service provider. In fact, I (the webmaster) have used Comcast both for my business and home internet service for the last 7 years. I’ve had dial-up, DSL, and now cable - and from my experience the highest speed and always-on feature of cable can’t be beat.
What I’ve found to be advantages of Comcast (comcast.net) high speed Internet:
1. Speed: The obvious advantage that you will notice right away is SPEED. When you change over to cable/LAN from dial up this is the first thing you will notice. You’ll notice Comcast’s faster speed compared to DSL too.
DSL is sent over the telephone line and Comcast is sent over broadband cable - the same cable that broadband television is transmitted over. This MUCH increased bandwidth, as compared to the achievable telephone line bandwidth, allows you to download files MUCH faster. This is especially useful when you have a certain amount of downloading to do, in regards to business or pleasure. You will often need to download helpful software, e-books and games. The better the speed of your Internet connection the faster you can download files.
Oh yeah, and video … Well, forget about watching videos online with dial-up. But, you’ll also be pleasantly surprised to see that instead of the jerkiness, video distortion or black-outs associated with slower DSL, watching videos with Comcast high speed is just like watching videos on your home television.
2. Convenience: Both DSL and LAN connections are on 24/7, which means your Comcast (comcast.net) high speed Internet service is always on. This is very convenient and useful. With continuous service you can use your computer any time and never get disconnected in the middle of a download or game. You can perform unattended, automated tasks online and so much more with an ‘always-on’ connection.
3. No Telephone Issues: Unlike dial-up and DSL - Comcast High Speed Cable Internet does NOT use your telephone line and so does NOT tie up your phone line or require you to add any extra equipment or dial any special code to access your phone when you’re also online. Since Comcast cable internet is delivered on the same broadband cable line as cable television - you are spared the headache of sharing your internet with your telephone.
4. Easy Networking: With Comcast (comcast.net) high speed Internet service you can also have a home network of computers, which makes it more economical and convenient for home and small business use. You can also bundle telephone and cable television with your internet service, if you like. This makes paying these bills not only more convenient, but greatly reduces the overall costs per year compared to buying each service separately.
